Robinson Island + Golden Beach

Robinson Island Excursion: Golden Beaches, Salt Flats, and Relaxation in Nature

The day begins with departure from your accommodation at 9:30 am . We will pass through Malindi and head towards Che Shale , the “Golden Sand,” where we will make our first stop to admire the spectacular golden beach on the coast.

We continue our journey towards Ngomeni , famous for its salt pans. Along the way, you’ll be able to admire the pink flamingos and shrimp that populate the salt pans. From here, we head towards the island via a dirt road along the Gongini salt lake , home to many bird species such as herons and egrets.

We’ll leave the car near a lagoon and meet ” Caronte ” who, with his canoe, will ferry us through a breathtaking mangrove landscape to Robinson Island . Depending on the tide, the island may also be accessible on foot across the lagoon.

Once on the island, you’ll have time to relax on the beach or take a stroll to the fishing village . Lunch will be served at Coco Beach , a traditional restaurant built in the local style with a makuti roof. The menu includes delicacies such as rice with octopus sauce, red crabs, coconut-baked clams and oysters, grilled fish, tropical fruit, and traditional Arabic coffee.

After lunch, sofas and hammocks await you for a moment of pure relaxation until 3:00 PM, when we leave the island and head back, scheduled for around 4:30 PM.
